The people who have not used VIM / VI don't know its power and that is the problem. The databricks developers seem to be few of them. Who has the patience to learn vim to even understand how convenient it can be.

Are there any updates? I'd love to see vim keybindings getting added. It's pretty inconvenient always navigating through databricks with just a mouse, especially when it's so easy to click on the wrong cell.

This would be amazing. Especially with the option to disable the auto complete on braces.

By key bindings, I think most people mean a set of key functions defined by a popular editor like VIM or Emacs, not just any set of shortcuts. They have been improved and harden for decades by large communities. Having used VIM for a decade, supporting VIM bindings is definitely a big plus for me and other VIM users.

Notebooks do support key bindings.
This is one of the top suggestions on the site. It would be nice if databricks could give us some feedback.
I find myself hassling a lot while typing in a notebook.
The biggest pain is having to reach over to my mouse to click 2 lines above or even clicking to another cell.
